Privacy & Data Security

ImageResizer Studio runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your image files are processed locally and never uploaded to any server. There is no data retention, no logging of file contents, and no third-party access to your images.

PicResize requires you to upload your files to their servers for processing. Your images are temporarily stored during the resize operation and then deleted. While this is standard practice for online tools, it means your files do leave your device during the process.

Unit Support

PicResize only supports pixel-based resizing. You enter a target width and height in pixels, or scale by percentage. There is no support for physical print dimensions.

ImageResizer Studio goes beyond pixels with 5 unit types: pixels, percent, inches, centimeters, and millimeters. If you need to resize an image to a specific print size — say 4×6 inches for a photo print — you can do that directly without calculating pixel dimensions yourself.

Format Support

PicResize supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, and TIFF — including two formats (BMP, TIFF) that are less common on the web but useful in print workflows.

ImageResizer Studio supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and HEIC. The WebP and HEIC support makes it more practical for modern web and mobile photo workflows. Both tools allow output format conversion.

Quality Controls

PicResize offers basic quality options — you can choose between different output quality levels, but the controls are coarse-grained.

ImageResizer Studio provides fine-grained quality control with an adjustable slider from 1–100, an aspect-ratio lock, DPI settings for print output, and the ability to compress to an exact target file size (e.g., resize to 50KB for a form upload). This level of control is useful when you need precise output quality.

Pricing & Limits

PicResize is free to use but includes advertisements. The free tier supports images up to 50 MB and batch processing of up to 100 images.

ImageResizer Studiois completely free with no ads, no account requirement, and no watermarks. The main limit is your device’s available memory, which is typically sufficient for very large images.

Verdict

Choose ImageResizer Studio if you want full privacy (no uploads), need print-ready units (in, cm, mm), or want fine-grained quality and file-size controls — all without ads or account requirements.

Choose PicResizeif you need BMP or TIFF support, prefer a long-standing tool with a simple interface, or don’t mind server-side processing for your workflow.
